Emergency Pet Relocation Dubai
Visa cancelled, departure brought forward, or a pet still here after everybody else has gone. Message us and you will have a straight answer the same day: whether your date is achievable, what the fastest realistic route looks like, and what it costs.
The honest version up front. Where vaccinations are already current, a move to the UK or Europe can be done in a matter of weeks rather than months. Where a rabies antibody test has not been done and the destination requires one, no amount of money changes the waiting period — and Australia cannot be done quickly under any circumstances. What we can do is find the shortest lawful path and tell you the truth about it today.
Triage
What can be compressed, and what cannot
Most of a pet relocation is administration, and administration can be compressed by somebody working harder and knowing who to call. A small part of it is biology and government process, and that part does not move for anybody. Knowing which is which is the difference between a plan and a panic.
Cannot be compressed
- The 21-day rabies wait. A rabies vaccination must predate travel by at least 21 days. If your pet needs one now, that is three weeks before it can fly, whatever anybody promises.
- Microchip before vaccine. If the chip was implanted after the rabies shot, the vaccination is not recognised and the schedule starts again from the new vaccination.
- Australia's 180-day wait. The rabies antibody test starts a fixed 180-day clock from the day the laboratory receives the sample. Six to seven months, minimum, with quarantine after it.
- Rabies antibody waiting periods generally, wherever the destination requires the test.
- Cargo acceptance times. Live-animal acceptance closes two to four hours before passenger baggage, and cargo space is booked roughly seven to fourteen days ahead.
- Heat restrictions. Carriers refuse live animals above roughly 29.5°C along the route, and Dubai runs 39–41°C from June to September. Summer means night departures and fewer of them.
Can be compressed
- Permit filing. MOCCAE advises applying two to three weeks out. We file the moment the veterinary documents exist rather than in sequence after everything else.
- Veterinary appointments. We hold slots at practices we work with daily instead of joining a queue.
- The health certificate window. A UAE export certificate is issued within 10 days of travel — we book that appointment against the flight, not against a guess.
- Crate sourcing. Measured and supplied in days. Custom containers for large breeds are built here in Dubai.
- Finding the space. Direct cargo accounts with six carriers mean we ask six airlines at once, not one at a time.
- Document errors. The commonest cause of a lost week is a mismatched microchip number or a misspelled consignee. Caught on day one, they cost nothing.

Realistic fastest timelines by destination
Assuming the microchip is ISO-standard, the rabies vaccination is current and was given after the chip, and no antibody test has yet been done. Where one is needed, add its waiting period to everything below.

Across the market a standard export from Dubai runs three to eight weeks, and three to five where everything is already in order. Nothing above is a promise of a date — flights, temperatures and government processing are not ours to control. It is what the floor looks like when everything goes right.

The most common emergency
If your residence visa has been cancelled
This is the situation behind most urgent enquiries we receive, and it has a specific deadline attached. Since 11 February 2026 the ICP has operated a unified overstay system: a 30-day grace period after a residence visa is cancelled, and a fine of AED 50 per day after that. Most expatriates have between 30 and 90 days depending on visa category, and Golden and Green visa holders can have up to 180.

The reframe that solves most of these
Your deadline and your pet's deadline do not have to be the same date. A pet cannot travel in the cabin or as checked baggage without its owner physically on the flight — but manifested cargo has no such requirement. Your pet can fly on its own air waybill, days or weeks after you, fully and lawfully prepared.
So the answer to "my grace period ends in three weeks and my dog's paperwork needs five" is not to rush the paperwork or to leave the dog. It is: you fly on your date, your dog boards with us, and it follows you properly. That is a normal, unremarkable arrangement and we run it constantly.
The one detail that matters more than any other in this arrangement is the consignee — the person named on the air waybill at the destination. Only that person can collect the animal, and the name has to match their identification exactly. A married name against a passport in a maiden name will stop a release. We ask for the passport spelling, and we check it twice.
If you have to leave before your pet can
Boarding, with the schedule running
Your pet stays in professional boarding while the vaccinations, permits and certificates complete on the timeline they actually need. Not a holding pen — a routine, with the travel crate present so acclimatisation carries on.
Unaccompanied cargo
The flight is booked as manifested cargo on its own air waybill. Your presence is not required, and the animal travels in the same pressurised, temperature-controlled hold it would have done with you on board.
A person at both ends
You are not there to hand the animal over or to collect it, so somebody should be. Accompaniment is worth more on this kind of move than on almost any other.
We would rather run this properly over six weeks than compress it into two and have your pet refused at acceptance — a refusal costs a rebooking, another set of certificates and more weeks, and it is the expensive outcome, not the cautious one. What to do in the first 24 hours
Six things. You can do all of them without hiring anybody, and doing them now shortens whatever follows.

Find the vaccination record
You need the date of the rabies vaccination, the vaccine name and batch, and the microchip number. Photograph every page of the passport or record book.

Check which came first
Microchip date against rabies date. If the chip came after the vaccine, the vaccination will not be recognised and a new one is needed — which starts a 21-day clock today rather than in a fortnight when somebody notices.

Confirm your own deadline
Your actual grace period from the ICP portal, not an estimate. The whole plan is built backwards from that date.

Establish whether the destination needs an antibody test
This single question decides whether you are looking at weeks or months. The UK and most of Europe do not require one from the UAE. Australia does, with 180 days attached.

Get the passport spelling of whoever will receive the pet
Exactly as printed, with an address and a mobile number. This becomes the consignee on the air waybill.

Measure the animal
Nose to base of tail, ground to elbow, width at the shoulders, and ground to the top of the head, standing. Four numbers, and the crate and the price both come from them.
If you are thinking of leaving the animal behind
People end up in this position through circumstances that were not their fault — a job ending without notice, a visa cancelled, money that has run out at the worst possible moment. If that is where you are, you are not the first person to sit in Dubai with a countdown and a dog and no idea what to do.
There is almost always an option that is better than the one you are dreading. In order:
- Fly later than you do. Boarding plus unaccompanied cargo means the animal does not have to meet your deadline at all. This solves most cases on its own.
- Move on the Essentials tier. From AED 4,000, we handle the permits, the crate, the cargo booking and the certification, and you handle the clearance and the vet appointments yourself. It is meaningfully cheaper than a managed move.
- Tell us the budget you actually have. Not the one you think we want to hear. There are routes, seasons and tiers that change the figure substantially, and we would rather build a plan around a real number.
- Ask us about timing. A move in November costs less than the same move in July, because summer capacity is scarce. If your departure can wait, that is money saved.
- If none of that works, talk to us anyway. We know the reputable rescue and rehoming organisations in the UAE and we will point you at them without any part of the conversation being uncomfortable. An animal placed properly is a better outcome than one left with a neighbour who did not really agree to it.

Our service fee does not change because you are in a hurry. Essentials from AED 4,000, Managed from AED 8,000, White Glove from AED 15,000 — the same figures as any other move, because charging panic is not a business we want.

What is the fastest you can move a pet out of Dubai?

My visa is cancelled and my grace period is running out. What happens to my pet?
Your deadline and your pet's deadline do not have to be the same date. A pet cannot fly in the cabin or as checked baggage without its owner on the flight, but manifested cargo carries no such requirement — so your pet can board with us, complete its paperwork properly, and follow you days or weeks later on its own air waybill. Can you speed up the rabies vaccination waiting period?
No, and neither can anybody else. A rabies vaccination must predate travel by at least 21 days, and if the microchip was implanted after the vaccination then the vaccination is not recognised at all and a new one restarts the clock. Anyone offering to shorten that is offering you a shipment that will be refused. The same applies to rabies antibody waiting periods where a destination requires one.
Can my pet fly to Australia urgently?
No. The UAE is a Group 3 country for Australian imports, so a pet becomes eligible to fly only 180 days after the laboratory receives its rabies antibody blood sample, with a BICON import permit typically taking 20 to 40 business days and a minimum of 10 days in quarantine at Mickleham on arrival. Six to seven months is the floor, and no arrangement shortens it.
